In form 20 year old Nigerian forward Friday Fred is showing no sign of slowing down anytime soon after scoring his 7th goal of the season from the first 8 games of the season in Norway's top flight league.

The scorer of 11 goals from 26 games last season has three more goals than Deshorn Brown of Valerenga, ironically they were both on the opposite side in this weekend game with the Nigerian coming out top.

Fred scored for the sixth consecutive game by scoring Lillestrom opener eight minutes into their 2-0 win over Valerenga to extend his early season top scorer lead by three goals.

In an interview with Owngoalnigeria.com at the start of the season he credit God almighty and his teammates for his goal scoring run and to him it's fun to be battling to be top scorer.

Since moving to Europe in 2013, the highest ever amount of goals he has scored in a season is 11 but after just 8 games this season he is just four goals shy of the tally he achieved last season.

If he maintains his current goal scoring rate he could possibly beat Mons Ivar Mjelde record of 19 goals in a season for Lillestrom, the highest ever goal scored by a player for the team set in 1993.
