Anglo Nigerian Tiago Abiola Delfim Almeida Ilori had a debut to forget for Liverpool after he was substituted in the 73rd minute of Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with 4th tier side Exeter City.
The 22 year old who had a productive spell on loan at Granada in 2014 and a fairly successful spell last season at Ligue 1 side Bordeaux was at fault for Exeter opener as he was slow to cut out the cross that lead to the goal.
Although his course wasn’t helped by his central defence partner Luis Enrique who originally plays a left full back but was deployed as a central defender due to the injury crises they are facing.
Ilori recalled from his loan spell at Aston Villa to provide cover in the defence for Liverpool due to the lack of personnel in the defence can as well fault fitness for his poor showing.
At Aston Villa he only got into the match day squad once in the Premier League but never got to play for the relegation battlers before he was recalled by Liverpool.
He is eligible for Nigeria,Portugal and England but has already represented only Portugal at youth level no thanks to his unstable form since joining Liverpool in the summer of 2014.
