Odion Ighalo whose form for English Premiership surprise package Watford has been earning him rare review has equal the achievements of two other Nigerians in the English Premier League.

Ighalo who was voted the best premier league player for the month of December alongside his manager Quique Sanchez Flores who picked up the manager’s gong has now equaled Austin Okocha and Peter Odemwingie’s record of winning the EPL player of the month.

Okocha was the first Nigerian to be voted player of the month when he won it in September 2003 while at Bolton Wanderes and Peter Osaze Odemwingie who has won the award thrice.

Odemwingie first won it in 2010 while at West Brom when he got voted as best player for the month of September and in 2011 when he picked up the award for April at same team.

In February 2012 he won his third premier league player of the month award,a record which Ighalo will now have in his sight following his latest award for December which comes after his five goals in the last month of 2015.
