Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi enhanced his reputation at his Belgium side Genk when he opened scoring in their 2-1 victory over Zulte Waregem.
19 year old Ndidi who has been converted into a defensive midfielder from his preferred central defense role scored his side and the game opening goal in the 16th minute.
However they were pegged back in the 31st minute when Christophe Lepoint drew Zulte Waregem level much to the frustration of Ndidi and his teammates.
They recovered from the setback of losing their lead to scoring in the 87 minutes through Nikos Karelis and managed to hang on despite 3 minutes of time added on to move up to 6th on the log.
For Ndidi the goal was his first professional goal after 24 top flight games for Genk the team he joined a year ago from Nath Boys in Nigeria.
He has so far made 18 league appearances for Genk totaling 1,436 minutes of football.
