Manager of Manchester City Manuel Pelligrini has moved quickly to quell fears among supporters of the team that Nigeria teen Kelechi Iheanacho is been under- appreciated.
Iheanacho has scored five goal from just 360 minutes of first team football this season and the calls for him to be more involved are growing louder.
However Pelligrini claimed the value they placed on the Nigerian was the reason why they pull all the stops to get him registered last season and reiterated his belief Iheanacho will be a very important player.
“It depends on the way he develops in the next years” he said
I think it’s important for him to work every day with important players, but in the moment that we talk to the FA last season to have his work permit was because I especially think he will be a very important player”
He however played down suggestion Iheanacho will be in the starting XI this weekend when City take on Crystal Palace but didn’t rule it out, adding that he felt the youngster had taken every opportunity presented to him.
