Nigeria Under-23 captain Okechukwu Azubuike who plays for Yeni Malayatspor in Turkey is a subject of a bid from French principality outfit Monaco.
Owngoalnigeria.com gathered from sources in France that Azubuike is high on the wishlist of Monaco who were impressed by his dazzling display for Nigeria at the Africa U-23 championship.
He was voted the most valuable player of the championship alerting teams in Europe of his abilities with Monaco the first to slap in a bid for his services this winter.
However their €2m bid for the 18 year old is deemed insufficient by Yeni Malatyaspor as they believe his market value will rise after the Olympic games in Rio where he is expected to captain the Nigeria team later this year.
So far he has made 12 appearances for the team currently placed 13th on the second division league table in Turkey which keeps them three points away from avoiding relegation.
Yeni Malayatspor also have Nigeria AFCON 2013 hero Sunday Mba on their books and so far the former Warri Wolves midfielder has made 17 appearances with 3 goals to his name.
