AS Roma teen prospect Sadiq Umar is in line to be called up to the Nigeria U-23 team by coach Samson Siasia who wants to fortify his attack.

Sadiq has grown in leap and bounds since joining the first team set up at AS Roma scoring twice in the Serie A and posting fine performances in the games he didn’t score.

Already lined up to be a part of the next U-20 team of Nigeria, the 18 year old might however be torn between both youth teams as the olympic team are keen on his services.

Siasia wants him to bring competition to the duo of Taiwo Awoniyi and Junior Ajayi who are presently first choice striker of the team and he might feature in their pre olympic friendly games to convince the coaches of his abilities.

At club level “Jololo” like he is called by close friends and associate failed to make the team in their last game against Chievo, their first under new coach Luciano Spalleti.
