Super Eagles defender Shehu Abdullahi scored his first goal since moving abroad in 2014 when he left Kano Pillars for Al Qadsia of Kuwait netting in Uniao Madeira 3-0 win over Nacional.

The Ex Sokoto United midfielder who moved to Europe after a season in Kuwait has become a regular at Uniao Madeira after a slow start to his career making starting their last 10 games in the league.

However he has made 13 appearances in the league coming on as a substitute on three other occasion but this goal has further cementing his reputation in the team who will be struggling to hold on to him in the summer as he is contractually binded to them for just a season.

He spent a year in Kuwait winning the Emir Cup and Super Cup but for career progression moved to Europe where he has been able to force his way into the Nigeria National team as a full back as oppose to his traditional role as a midfielder.

Although at the 2013 U-20 World youth championship he played as a right full back but a year later excelled with the B team of Nigeria at the Africa Nations Championship in South Africa where Nigeria won Bronze and was a late exclusion from the Nigeria team to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
