Anthony Nwakaeme was once again the hero for Hapoel Be’er Sheva scoring the opening goal in their 2-1 win over Maccabi Petach Tikva in the State cup.

The scorer of 7 goals in the league scored his first goal in the cup after 6 games in the 13th minute making it 4 goals in his last six games.

20 year old Nwakaeme has been in Israel since 2013 when he first moved to Hapoel Ra’anana where he spent 2 seasons playing 55 games with 13 goals to his name.

His fine form earned him a move Hapoel Be’er Sheva where he is teammate to Nigeria’s John Ogu who has been at the team since last year.

Nwakaeme who has been snubbed by all levels of Nigeria national team might earn a call up to the U-23 who are currently getting set to begin preparations for the Olympics in Rio.

He started his professional career abroad in Romania in 2011 starting off at Ariesul Turda before stints with Universitatea Cluj and Petrolul Ploiesti.
