Stoke City Peter Osaze Odemwingie who is into the final six months of his deal is set to join Olympique Marseille in France on loan with the French club having the option of making the deal permanent in the summer if Stoke City fail to exercise their option of extending his deal by a year.

The 34-year-old has linked up with agent Mark McKay of ExcelFoot who has a strong relationship with the French side after organising the deal that took Dimitri Payet to West Ham,Odemwingie has six months left on contract with an option of another year but Stoke are happy to streamline their squad.

He started against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup defeat on Saturday but has made just seven appearances overall this season a situation that is largely due to the injury battles he has had in the past and a return to France where he excelled with Lille from 2005-2007 is reportedly a done deal.
