After almost three weeks out due to a rupture in his left abductor, Obiora Nwankwo is back in full training with Academica.

Nwankwo last played for Academica on the 16th of January against Sporting Braga but might feature once again this weekend when they take on Nacional in what will be his 12th game of the season for 17th place Academica.

Academica are battling to avoid relegation to the second division and his return will be a timely boost for the team as they failed to pick a win in the five games they played in his absence picking up one point from a possible fifteen.

24 year old Nwankwo who has 18 caps for Nigeria is highly experienced in Europe after stints in Italy with Inter-Milan,CFR Cluj in Romania and Córdoba in Spain and also won the 2013 cup of nations with Nigeria.

However after a not too impressive display in the three games he played for Nigeria under new coach Sunday Oliseh he has been omitted from the team’s subsequent games.
