After the conclusion of midweek games in Europe owngoalnigeria.com in it’s usual style selects the top 11 players from Nigeria who did well in our weekly Nigeria top 11 players in Europe

Vincent Enyeama: Over the weekend when Lille took on Marseille he made two great saves, one from N’Koulou that was tipped over the bar and the last minutes goal that was scored was as a result of bad defending on the side of Lille’s defenders further more he followed that up with a clean sheet against high flying Caen in midweek to help his side to a 1-0 win.

Kingsley Ehizibue: Showed a lot of potential as a rightback in the weekend game against Groningen, gave Groningen leftback a tough time with his trademark dribbles and step overs, good enough to earn him a spot in our team of the week ahead of Moses Odubajo who got our nod last week

Wilfred Ndidi: He made the team again because of this versatility, he closed down Kortrijk attackers at will with his aggressiveness and marking and although he suffered disappointment with Genk in the Belgium cup against Standard Liege missing out on a spot to the final after drawing 1-1 in the second leg, He maintain his spot in our team of the week, thanks to his weekend performance.

Godfrey Oboabona: We picked Oboabona as our Defensive midfielder after he helped his side to an away win in Turkish Cup and his ball distribution was a delight to watch aside that he has played all but one of the games Rizespor have played this season, having one of his best seasons in Europe since moving to Turkey in 2013.

Leon Balogun: He was superb in tackle, nearly scored with a flicked header but his awareness was a delight throughout the game against Borrussia Monchengladbach little wonder It did not come as surprise when he was named in Bundesliga team of the week

Kenneth Otigba: Another graet performance, very dangerous at set pieces, although he played safe throughout the game he still bullied Cambuur attackers at will, should get a national team call up going by his overall performance this season.

John Chibuike: Delivered another great effort against Galatassary although his team lost but his deft touches and dribbles unsettled Gala’s defenders and most of his through balls were that could easily have resorted to goals were wasted, still a surprise he is yet to be called up to the Super Eagles.

Alex Iwobi: Look quite decent on the ball, incredibly composed and with run of games Nigeria has found a proper number 10 we have been searching for, really looks the part and his passes are well measured although his performance over the weekend against Burnley didn’t get him into the team for the Premier league game against Southampton he still gets our nod.

Kelechi Iheanacho- A Hat-trick plus pseudo assist in the game against Aston Villa which deservedly got him included in the Champions league squad of Manchester City,a well deserve spot in our team of the week even though he drew blank against Sunderland in midweek.

Omatsone Aluko: Full of runnning and dribbles throughout the game against Bury in the FA cup over the weekend , got a penalty for Hull City and provided an assist for Chuba Akpom to score his hat trick, he was the engine room behind Hull’s performance .

Odion Ighalo: He provided the only goal for Watford to move into the next round and no other Nigerian strikers did enough in Europe to displace him in our team of the week again even though he couldn’t hit the back of the net against Chelsea in midweek.
