Usman Mohammed who plays for the Nigeria Under-23 and home base team will henceforth ply his trade abroad in Portugal after putting pen to paper on a two year deal with low division team Desportiva Sanjoanense but immediately loaned out to top division side Uniao de Madeira.
Last season Usman played for FC Taraba in the Nigeria Professional Football League but will immediately join Uniao de Madeira as he is a free player following the expiration of his deal with the relegated Nigeria Premier League side.
Usman made his international debut for Nigeria senior national team last year but have flourished more with the youth side where he is presently a part of the Olympic bound team and also the home based team.
He was ever present in the Nigeria team that won the Africa Nations Under-23 championship and also featured in the home based team that failed to go past the group stage at the ongoing CHAN championship in Rwanda.
At Uniao de Madeira he will team up with another Super Eagles player in Shehu Abdullahi who is presently a regular with the team after a slow start to his career in Europe after a short stint in the Middle East.
