“No matter what these critics say, as long as I am coach of the Super Eagles, I won’t pay anybody to write positively about me in the media as some of these critics have asked me to.

2.On playing players base on demands from football agents.

“Some of them come to me from the back and say I should invite their players and we will do business.”

3.On being criticize by his former National team colleague

“What is unfortunate is that my ex-colleagues are the most critical. When we played they were mostly sitting on the bench and talking. They were not the real actors who made Super Eagles what they were then. They are still doing the same thing, sitting down and talking, if you think you are better, go for a coaching course, or start coaching and show what you can do.”

4.On how he got the Super Eagles job
“I didn’t beg for this job, refused this job twice. It needed the intervention of a respected friend in government. I took it not to serve special interest, but to serve Nigeria,” he continued.

“I’m patriotic, I love my nation, my nation has made me what I am and this is where I belong.

5.On the effect of damaging criticism.

“You are not hurting me, my players and my team, you are hurting Nigeria. What if we start fighting and we don’t qualify for the next World Cup?
“God should bless our critics with the same wishes they are wishing us.”

6.On not winning enough games.

“ Unless you mean that for Coach Sunday Oliseh and his crew to be successful they must win every match. Even the world Champions, Germany are not doing that, talk less of us that is a brand new team that we started building just for some months now.”

7.On his record as Super Eagles coach

“It’s been 14 games since I took over as Chief Coach of the Super Eagles. We have lost just one official game and one friendly game. Nigeria scored 19 goals, conceded six. Eagles qualified for the group stages of the World Cup and we are still on track to qualify for the 2017 AFCON. So where is this failure that some of our critics are trying to sell to Nigerians.”

8.On his team poor showing in CHAN 2016

“with all due respect, CHAN is probably the least important tournament that is held by CAF and it is a tournament that weighs more on the strength of the leagues against one another.

9.On those calling for his sack after CHAN failure

“I am addressing this insanity that has befallen some of our critics and I call it insanity because you must be insane to start seeking a plebiscite on the future of the national team’s coach of Nigeria because we lost CHAN,”

10.On preferring to stay in Belgium and not Nigeria

“I have nowhere to lodge should I come to Nigeria. I do not intend to stay in a hotel when the Super Eagles are not in camp.

11.On being owed by the NFF

“Please remember that by virtue of our wages being unpaid, you have breached our signed contract and that is CAPITAL. In going forward, I think it will help us achieve our goals better if the players’ bonuses and allowances are paid on time as evidently as we saw in Rwanda, was the reason why our players were morally low and failed in advance. That is my technical appraisal of the situation.

12.On Nigeria chances of qualifying for AFCON 2017 and World Cup 2018

“We’re on track to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations and we have qualified into the pool stage for the World Cup,” he said.

“This is the 14th game I have been in charge as coach and we have lost only two and only one official game.

“So, where is this failure that some people are trying to sell to Nigerians?
