Nigeria U-17 World cup winner Lukman Zakari will be in Tunisia next week to undergo a medical with Sfaxien of Tunisia Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Zakari could have had his medical shortly after the U-17 world cup with Sfaxien but a breakdown in communication lead to the deal to be place on hold until a meeting between his father and his agent witnessed by his academy side,Unity Academy lead to a truce.
“It’s all sorted out now, the media made a big issue out of it while it was just a minor communication gap and it is now in the past, so hopefully he will be in Tunisia by the weekend to have his medicals with Sfaxien before putting pen to paper on a deal which is still subject to negotiations” His agent Babawo Mohammed told owngoalnigeria.com
Known for his calmness and aerial abilities the 17 year old was a rock at the back for Nigeria playing through the pain barriers to help Nigeria lift the U-17 World cup in Chile.
He shunned offer of a trial from Portuguese side Boavista in preference for a move to Sfaxien where he will most likely team up with two Nigerians at the team,Junior Ajayi and Kingsley Sokari.
