MOSES SIMON DISAPPOINTS AS GENT FAIL IN COMEBACK BID

Super Eagles forward had a UEFA champions league night to forget lasting 61 minute as Gent slumped to a 3-2 loss at home to Wolfsburg.

Simon still searching for his first Champions League goal in his debut season in the Europe premier club competition had a below par first half by his standards but posted a better showing in the second half.

He twice created goal scoring opportunity for two of his teammates but they both failed to deliver in the second half when he was the deadliest player for Gent.

20 year old Simon tormented Veirinha who was playing the right full back role for Wolfsburg and just when he was beginning to make an impression he was substituted for Thomas Matton.

After his removal Gent became a better team and thanks to goals from Sven Kums and Kalifa Coulibaly they almost made a dramatic comeback but Wolfsburg hanged on to claim a 3-2 victory.

While Simon struggled to make an impact in the game, German forward Julian Draxler of Schalke 04 stole the show scoring a brace and putting his team on a sound base ahead of the return leg in two weeks time.

Daddy Ajala like he is fondly called by friends is one of the foreign based players expected to be in Kaduna next month for the Super Eagles of Nigeria double header against Egypt.
