John Obi Mikel has credited interim manager Guus Hiddink for his new found form at Chelsea citing the freedom given to him by the coach as part of the reason.
The Nigerian have become an integral player since Guud Hiddink took over from Jose Mourinho in December and he has wowed Chelsea fans with his performances under the Dutch man.
“Guus Hiddink came and stabilise things, we now feel free to play, free to take responsibilities and live up to it in a relaxed well which is something every player need” He told the Telegraph.
“We went through a difficult period no doubt but Hiddink arrived and managed to put us in the right direction and now results are coming for us”.
Although they lost 2-1 to PSG in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash with Mikel scoring their lone goal but the Nigerian is confident they can turn the tie around at their home ground.
He has been at Chelsea for close to ten years and although he was tip to leave the club at the end of this season that appears not to be the case anymore going by his present form.
