Former FC Porto trainee Jacob Njoku who currently plays for Al Oruba in the UAE will have trial with Liverpool in the summer according to his agent.
Babawo Mohammed agent to the teen who spent time at Portuguese giants FC Porto but failed to secure a professional contract told owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive chat that the 18 year old will trial with Liverpool in the summer.
“Jacob Njoku has a one year deal with Al Oruba which will run out in April but already we have arrange for him to have trials with Liverpool in the summer” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.
“We had to loan him out from our academy Geelec so that he can have first hand experience of professional football, the demands and the pressure, He is a better player now than six months ago”
However the forward isn’t qualify for a work permit to play in England so even if he impresses at the trial, Liverpool might still have to loan him out like they did with Taiwo Awoniyi who is currently out on loan to FSV Frankfurt in the German second division.
Njoku is a left footed forward who despite his goal scoring record with the Nigeria U-17 team in 2003 prior to the World cup failed to make the team same fate he suffered with the U-20 last year.
