On loan Liverpool teenager Taiwo Awoniyi had a league debut to remember playing 89 minutes for his loan side FSV Frankfurt helping them stop a run of four game without a win with a 1-3 victory over St. Pauli.
18 year old Awoniyi joined FSV Frankfurt six months ago on loan from Liverpool after signing a five year deal with the Merseyside giants but had to wait for six months before playing in the league.
His only previous senior football experience came in the DFB Cup where he came on as an extra time substitute in their 1-2 loss to Hertha Berlin but this time around he was on from the start.
Although he didn’t score the Nigeria U-23 marksman who might play in the Olympics for Nigeria was a handful for the backline of St. Pauli dragging them out of position for his strike partners to pounce.
The gangling forward impressed in a twin strike role upfront with Fanol Perdedaj and together they formed a partnership that helped FSV Frankfurt win their first game in four.
FSV Frankfurt moved up to 15th with the victory on the 17 team German second division league table and Awoniyi who is heavily tipped to join Liverpool in pre season training next summer will want to leave the team on a high after his loan spell.
