As reported by owngoalnigeria.com yesterday, Emmanuel Emenike who is set for his first start as a West Ham player says he cannot wait for his chance to impress Hammers fans.
Injuries to fellow striker Enner Valencia,Andy Carroll,Diafra Sakho coupled with the departure of Nikica Jelavic to China leaves West Ham with only the Nigerian as their fit striker.
Emenike is warming to the idea of his first start with the team by telling the club official website of his readiness to seize the moment and make most of it.
“I am really looking to the Blackburn game this weekend, it’s a very important match for the team but also personally because I have the opportunity to show what I can do.
“If I score, I don’t know what I’d do to celebrate because I would be so excited, I would be so happy” He said.
So far, he has made two premier league appearances coming off the bench against Southampton and Norwich City but missed the FA Cup replay clash against Liverpool as he wasn’t eligible to feature in the tie.
