23 year old Nigeria forward Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo who took his season goal tally to 11 with a brace for Gil Vicente in their 3-2 win over Benfica II is propelling his team to the top.
The forward who scored nine times last season when they were in the top division failed to keep them up with his goals but this time around his goals might secure them promotion back to the top flight in Portugal.
Simmy’s 11 goals has played a big role in lifting Gil Vicente to 5th position on the log table just 7 points behind the leaders FC Porto II and well in line to gain promotion to the top flight.
After his brace he is now just three goals behind the league top scorer Platiny of Feirense who has 14 goals.
He is no stranger to the second division in Portugal after representing Portimonense for two seasons in the same league where he scored 16 times in 56 games.
