Out of favour Super Eagles forward Sunday Mba emerged as the hero for Yeni Malatyaspor scoring twice to help them secure a 0-3 victory over Elazigspor.
27 year old Mba scored his side second goal in the 47 minutes to put them 2-1 up before scoring his brace in the 67th minute to help them to a comfortable 3-0 win and moved them up to 13th in the second division table in Turkey.
The brace took his season’s tally to five goals from 18 appearances since joining the team from French 4th division side CA Bastia where he spent two years and scored just five times.
His time at the low division French side saw him lost his spot in the Nigeria national team few months after ending the nation’s 19 year wait for her first Africa Nation cup title with the winning goal against Burkina Faso in 2013.
At Yeni Malatyaspor he is teammate with Nigeria U-23 captain Azubuike Okechukwu who also played in the victory over Elazigspor.
