According to reports gathered by owngoalnigeria.com Tunisian side Sfaxien will pay Unity Academy more money than what they paid to two Nigeria top division clubsides.
Sfaxien reportedly paid less than the $200,000 they are about to pay for Lukman Zakari for the duo of Kingsley Sokari and Junior Ajayi who were signed from Enyimba and Shooting Stars respectively.
The figures for Unity Academy was made that high by ex footballer turned agent Babawo Mohammed who showed brinkmanship during talks with the Tunisians as he went as far as refusing to collect his agency commission unless the Unity Academy get $200,000.
“It was Babawo who made it happen for us, his negotiating power is second to none, he negotiated the whole package for the club and players and we are all satisfied” An official of Unity Academy told owngoalnigeria.com.
“Babawo also made the player to witness talks about his pay package, something most Nigeria agent don’t do that played a role in helping the boy get a better deal than we all thought.
“I think he has proving to all that our players are bought for cheap amount because of the poor negotiating skills of our agents and to a large extent clubs”.
