Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores says he will not stand in the way of Nigerian forward Odion Ighalo if he decides to represent Nigeria at this summer Olympics.

26 year old Ighalo is reportedly among those under consideration by head coach of the Nigeria U-23 Samson Siasia to represent the Nation at the Rio Olympics in Brazil and despite the tournament colliding with pre season and the start of the English Premier League season, Watford manager insist Ighalo is free to represent Nigeria if he so wishes.

The Hornets boss told a press conference: “It depends on the players also. Some players want to go to the Olympic games, other players prefer to rest.”It depends, but finally if the decision of the player is that he wants to go, I am happy.”

Ighalo who has 14 goals but has scored just twice in his last 10 games has been heavily linked with a move away from Watford in the summer and his manager understands why the speculations are ongoing.
