Nigeria U-23 invitee Theophilus Solomon was lost for words when he found out he is among the list of 30 players called up by coach Samson Siasia for the friendly against Brazil.
Out on loan to Croatia second division side NK Sibenik the 20 year old forward originally belongs to HNK Rijeka who are in the top flight and he is making good use of his time out on loan after putting behind his injury worries.
“I read on owngoalnigeria.com that my name is going to be on the list but when I called Sadiq Umar and Nura Abdullahi both of AS Roma who are on the list they said they have no idea” He told owngoalnigeria.com.
“Today a friend called to tell me am in the list I couldn’t hide my joy but at the same time I was surprised because I never believed my form is been monitored.
“Am so glad and ready to grab the opportunity with both hands am ready to put behind the disappointments of missing out on the U-17 and 20 for various reasons and fight for a spot in the Olympic team”.
Solomon who is presently in the top scorer race in the second division in Croatia is expected to start tommorow for table topping NK Sibenik when they entertain Hrvatski Dragovajat.
He will be hoping he adds to his tally of 10 goals from 16 games played so far as he warmed up for the restart of the season properly by scoring 3 times in the 6 friendly games they played during the break.
