A new twist to the transfer of Nigeria’s CHAN hero Chisom Chikatara has emerged with Kano Pillars insisting they have a gentleman pact with the 22 year old regarding his transfer.
” We reached an agreement with his club before he went to CHAN but what he was offered elsewhere was much more than what we agreed, it’s only natural we let him go to where will be beneficial to him but we also agreed that if he fails to secure a deal abroad then we have the first right of refusal if Abia Warriors want to sell to a domestic side” a team official told owngoalnigeria.com on the condition of anonymity.
Chikatara we gathered is stalling on a move to Wydad Casablanca of Morrocco even though the Morroccans have struck a club to club agreement with his team Abia Warrior.
However he might still make the move to Morrocco when the window for players registration and transfers open in the North Africa country despite a late push from Esperance of Tunisia.
Chairman of Abia Warriors Emeka Inyama who acts as father to the lad has already given his consent to the move and unless a team based in Europe shows interest Chikatara will undoubtedly move to Morrocco.
