Enyimba’s two goals hero against Vipers of Uganda Mfon Udoh says he has proved his doubters wrong with his brace that helped Enyimba qualify for the next round of the CAF Champions League on a 2-1 aggregate win over the Ugandans.
Two seasons ago he smashed the Nigeria Premier League record for goal scorer in a single season scoring 23 times, three more than the former record held by Jude Aneke.
However he failed to score double digits last season due to an ailment that kept him out for the majority of the season and even when he returned he struggled with injuries and poor fitness.
He missed the first leg of Enyimba’s tie against Vipers of Uganda which they lost 1-0 but back at their adopted home in Porthacourt his goals made the difference for the People Elephant and the way he took his second goal is reminisce of what the 23 year old did two seasons ago.
“I faced lots of criticism last season with a lot of people telling me to my face that am finished but I knew what my issues were and after sorting them out am back to my best and my brace silenced my doubters and also confirmed am back to my best” He told owngoalnigeria.com
