19 year old FC Porto Nigerian central defender Chidozie Awaziem says the 2nd of March 2016 will forever remain green in his mind as it was the day he scored his first goal for FC Porto to help them beat Gil Vicente and qualify for the final of the Portuguese cup.
“I worked hard to make it to the main squad and I hope to play more often, so I can help my teammates. Being in a club as big as this one is huge for my life and career” He told the club official website.
“I’m happy that I helped win this match and also played my part in qualifying my team for the final of the Portuguese cup, am so happy”.
Rated as one of the best young centre back in Europe at the moment his rise to the main team in just 18 months earned him a four year professional deal with the Portuguese giants.
Snubbed by Nigeria’s U-23 it’s only a matter of time before his talent get recognised internationally especially if he maintains his present career growth.
