Coach of Akwa United Maurice Cooreman is unhappy with the low turnout for Akwa United game especially their recent 2-0 victory over Plateau United on Friday.

“Am not happy to play in an almost empty stadium, when you have a big stadium like this and a very good playing surface you expect the fans to be here as well” He told owngoalnigeria.com.

“On our part as a team we need to get the result that will spur them to come and watch and slowly with the way we played today, it shows we are almost there”.

Two goals from Ubong Friday secured a 2-0 victory for Akwa United over Plateau United and Maurice Cooreman believes his wards have firmly put behind the disappointment of crashing out of the CAF Confederations cup.

“It was a bitter pill to swallow but I must commend my players for their display today it shows we have gotten over the pains of crashing out of a tournament we had high hopes of doing well, we can pick it from here” He concluded.

The 2-0 victory over Plateau United moved Akwa United to 8th on the Nigeria Premier League table and they have played a game less than two of the six teams ahead of them.
