Newly signed on Sfaxien of Tunisia central defender Lukman Zakari says U-17 WYC topscorer Victor Osimhen and his childhood friend Zilki Gambo were both instrumental in helping him decide to join the Tunisian side.
17 year old Zakari refused to sign for Sfaxien upon arriving Tunisia insisting terms of the deal proposed to him before he journeyed to the country were tempered with.
However after a long drawn out saga that lasted three days he finally agreed to sign but that was after consulting his close pal Osimhen of VFL Wolfsburg and Gambo a friend he respects highly.
“I had a chat with Osimhen via blackberry messenger from his base in Germany before making up my mind and he gave his thumbs up to the move as he believe we all have to take a step upward before we move to the U-20s” He told owngoalnigeria.com
“I also want to thank Zilki Gambo as after reading all what was going on he took time out to hear from me then advice I join the team as I will reap the benefit later on.
“Am indebted to those two in a way because true to their words so far I have no regret or whatsoever in choosing to join Sfaxien”.
Zakari will arrive Tunisia in a week team to train with their B team where he will remain until he turns 18 in December when his five year deal with the title chasing outfit will begin.
