Arsenal are currently trailing German giants Borrussia Dortmund in the race to sign AS Roma Nigerian teen Sadiq Umar.
Owngoalnigeria.com gathered that the entourage of the German team will in the coming days meet with the player’s representatives before formally submitting a bid they believe will match Roma’s valuation of the 18 year old.
Arsenal reportedly had a bid of around €10m rejected by Roma and are yet to submit another bid although they remain interested in the player nicknamed Jololo for his height and slicky style of play.
On their part AS Roma are willing to part ways with Sadiq but only for the right price as he has gone down the pecking order since the departure of Rudi Garcia.
Although he is still highly rated by current boss Luciano Spalleti, the manager have so far preferred the quartet of Mohammed Salah,Stephan El Sharawwy, Alessandro Florenzi and Edin Dzeko to the Nigerian.
Walter Sabbatini Roma’s director who played a big role in capturing Sadiq from Spezia is set to depart the team in the summer but will firstly ensure they take up the option of turning Sadiq’s loan deal into a permanent one before he leaves.
