Super Eagles midfielder Paul Onobi has received the greenlight to start his career in Europe after receiving his work permit to join Finnish side Kuopion Palloseura (KuPS).
Onobi signed a one and half year deal to join two other Super Eagles players Azubuike Egwuekwe and Gbolahan Salami at the Savon Sanomat Areena.
However while Egwuekwe is already in Finland waiting to make his debut, Salami and Onobi were held back by visa and work permit issues,
Onobi has however been given his and should join the team soonest according to reports gathered by owngoalnigeria.com.
“Onobi should be in Finland before the end of this week as he has been issued a visa and work permit, it’s no longer an issue now we waiting for KuPS to send us his travelling plans”
23 year old Onobi made his Super Eagles debut under erstwhile Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh but has not been included in interim manager Samson Siasia squad for the AFCON 2017 qualifiers games against Egypt.
A below par performance for Nigeria at the CHAN 2016 championship didn’t help his cause and he will be hoping his move to Finland help him relaunch himself back into international reckoning.
