Out of favour Super Eagles defender William Troost Ekong scored his first career goal since becoming a professional in 2013/2014 season in FK Haugesund 3-0 win over Aalesund.
Ekong set the ball rolling for his Norwegian side with a goal in the 10th minute before getting yellow carded in the 28th minute in the victory that help them maintain their perfect start to the season in Norway.
They currently lead the Tippeligaen with 6 points from their first two games and the 22 year old Nigerian international who was snubbed by interim Super Eagles manager Samson Siasia has been pivotal to their strong start to the season.
His central defense pairing with summer signing Anthony Izuchukwu should also make Nigerians happy as they have both struck a partnership that can one day translate to the senior national team of Nigeria.
While the duo were impressive in the game there was no spot for the other Nigerian at the club Ibrahim Shuaibu who started the first game against Sarpsborg 08.
