SIMMY NWANKWO SCORING FOR FUN IN PORTUGAL

Gil Vicente 23 year old Nigeria forward Simmy Nwankwo is arguably in the form of his life as he scored his 15th league goal of the season in their 1-2 loss to Porto II.

It is the first time the Nigerian is scoring 15 goals in a single season since moving to Portugal in 2011 joining Portimonense where his highest ever goal tally was 11 in the 2012/2013 season.

The goal took him one goal closer to the top scorer of the league Platiny of Feirense but while the Nigerian has scored all of his goals in open play Platiny has five goals from the penalty spot.

Now in his third season with Gil Vicente who were relegated last season to the second division he has seen a rise in his goal tally every season as he moved from scoring none in 2013/2014 to scoring 9 the previous season and now 15.

He is heavily tipped to secure a move away to a top club in Portugal and going by his recent form Gil Vicente will certainly find it hard to keep hold of him at the end of the season.
