Derick Ogbu has ended his association with Chinese side Liaoning Whowin just over a year after joining them and has moved to Japanese first division side Ventforet Kofu.
26 year old Ogbu played just two seasons with the Chinese side where he scored 16 times in 42 games for the team after joining them for €1m from CFR Cluj of Romania.
He becomes the second Nigerian to switch clubs in Japan this season after Peter Utaka’s move to Sanfreece Hiroshima earlier in the window.
Known as Chuka for short he started his career at Qatari side Umm Salal SC where he almost secured a move to PSV Eindhoven of the Netherlands in 2011/2012 but the move failed to materialise.
He later played in Belgium for OH Leuven for two seasons before moving to Romanian side CFR Cluj where he spent a year and scored 6 times before his adventure to the Far East of China.
