2015 U-17 World Youth championship top scorer Victor Osimhen will return to Nigeria with the Nigeria U-23s instead of going back to his German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively report that the youngster took permission to come back home and see his family as he has been away from home for a very long time.
Osimhen spent 10 weeks with the Nigeria U-17 team in camp and during the tournament proper and after emerging top scorer at the tournament he didn’t have enough rest due to interest from clubs around the world.
He settled for Wolfsburg and after weeks of training with the team he returned back to Nigeria on the 10th of March on leave but had to cut short his break to team up with the Nigeria U-23s for their friendly game against Brazil.
After the game in which he came on as a second half substitute the 17 year old returned to Nigeria instead of going back to Germany as his vacation extend to November.
The 17 year old will resume training with Wolfsburg in November, a month before he turns 18 and sign his professional contract.
