Head coach of the Golden Eaglet of Nigeria Manu Garba won’t be arriving Lagos anytime soon to scout for players contrary to reports going round.

The soft spoken coach is presently in Gombe drawing up training programmes for the U-17 who are most likely to be in camp before the end of this month.

“I have plans of scouting for players around Nigeria using different strategies not necessarily same approach like we did in other states” the soft spoken coach told Owngoalnigeria.com from his base in Gombe.

We gathered from sources close to the coach that in 2013 when he discovered the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho and Isacc Success,Taiwo Awoniyi,Musa Yahaya,Wilfred Ndidi among others he mainly played friendly games with their nursery teams from where they were picked.

It appears after his scouting mission in the North,South East and South South Nigeria he will most likely engage teams based in the South West region of Nigeria in friendly games from where talented players will be scouted and invited to join his team.
