Reports linking Kansas City teen sensation Nansel Selbol with an invitation to the Nigeria U-23 team are wide off the mark according to one of the player’s intermediary Shamsudeen Tijjani Yusuf.
“We have not proposed Nansel to the coach of the U-23s, Samson Siasia is a model professional coach who will only call up a player if there’s a need and for now he is yet to communicate to us about Nansel” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Shamsudeen is however optimistic that the 18 year old is first professional goal for Swope Park Rangers in their 2-1 win over Tulsa Roughnecks FC this past weekend will get his chance with the Nigeria national team very soon.
“He suffered disappointment with the U-17s in 2013 but if he keeps working hard like he is doing right now, a call up to any of the national team will come naturally, that’s what we have been preaching to him”.
