The deputy director institutional sport at the ministry of Youths,Sports and Culture, Dr. Ademola Are has criticised FIFA stand on the Jos court rulings that nullified the election that ushered in Amaju Pinnick as president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
“I don’t understand this body call FIFA anymore, if they are saying Chris Giwa is wrong for taking football matters to a civil court and hence should be banned from all football activities same should apply to Amaju Pinnick” He said.
“Pinnick has also taken football matters to a civil court by appealing the Jos high court ruling which to me means both of them have committed same offence.
“I still don’t believe FIFA doesn’t recognise the law of the land it members come from as they too are bounded by Swiss laws, there’s something somebody somewhere isn’t saying”.
Regarding FIFA’s letter of warning to Nigeria about the court ruling, Dr. Are laughed it off as a product of poor understanding of the Nigeria situation and the press.
“Isn’t it laughable? The FA in Egypt and Liberia was dissolved by a civil court of law yet no letter from FIFA, I can only imagine what they were told happened in Nigeria and you have to fault the press.
“You guys something tend to blow the issue beyond proportion and take sides when in the actual sense you should be seen as a neutral party for the benefit of proper information dissemination”.
