Simmy Nwankwo marked his return to the Gil Vicente line up after serving a one match ban by scoring a brace as they thrash UD Oliveirense 4-0.
Nwankwo red carded against Atletico CP a week ago missed Gil Vicente’s midweek game against Sporting CP II following the one match ban that came with his sending off.
On his return he proved he hasn’t lost any of his scoring touch scoring as his brace sandwiched between both halves of the game helped Gil Vicente to a big win which keeps them in 10th spot on the league table.
Personally the brace took the Nigerian tally for the season to 17 from 37 game, a tally that makes him the league joint top scorer with Platiny of Feirense.
Last season he scored nine times in the Portuguese top flight but his goals couldn’t save Gil Vicente from relegation to the second division in Portugal.
