According to Akwa United and Nigeria U-23 forward, Ubong Ekpai he will join Israeli side Maccabi Haifa in the summer.

Ekpai will travel to Israel later in the week to finalise the deal that will see him leave Akwa United before the end of the Nigeria Professional Football League season.

Scorer of Nigeria’s lone goal in a 1-0 win over Brazil U-23 in an international friendly he was also a part of the team that won the Africa U-23 championship in Senegal.

Ekpai joined Akwa United this season after two seasons with three times Nigeria Champions Kano Pillars where he was unfortunately involved in the robbery accident the team suffered before the start of last season Nigeria Professional Football League.

He is represented by Argentine agent Marcelo Houseman who recently signed 15 Nigeria players to his player management agency last month.
