Abdullahi Alfa who has been making a big impression in his first season as a professional player in Latvia took another remarkable step by scoring his first professional goal for Ventspils in their 5-0 thrashing of BFC Daugavpils.

After making his first start in a midweek cup game against Liepaja, Alfa was introduced in the 66th minute with Ventspils leading 4-0 and he completed the rout in the third minute of time added on to complete the rout.

Alfa a member of the Manu Garba lead U-17 team of 2013 joined Ventspils in January and has so far made two appearances in the league and one in the cup.

19 year old Alfa missed out on a move to Gent of Belgium in 2013 due to ownership issues involving Football Academy Abuja and his nursery team in Kaduna.

He was a late omission from the Nigeria team that campaigned at the last U-20 team in New Zealand although he featured for them at the Africa edition which Nigeria won.
