18 year old Spezia of Italy forward,David Okereke says he is eager to score his professional goal for the Serie B side after making his first start in last weekend Serie B game against Crotone.
Okereke signed from Football Academy Abuja caught the attention of scouts in Italy when he was selected as one of the stars of the Viarreggio Youth Tournament, an annual tournament staged in Italy.
His fine form lead to talks about how he will lead the attack of the team next season but after making the bench two weeks ago and coming on as a substitute the next week, he got his first start in Saturday’s game against Crotone and lasted 52 minutes in the game which ended 0-0.
That appearance has got him dreaming and yearning for his first professional goal for the team that helped in the development of Sadiq Umar and Nura Abdullahi who are now at Serie A side Roma.
“It’s still like a dream to me because I remember when I arrived Italy few months ago, all I dreamed off is what am witnessing, am just so eager to score my first professional goal to repay the coaches for their trust in my abilities” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.
