The Nigeria U-20 team who are presently in camp ahead of their 2017 Africa Youth Qualifiers game against Burundi later in the month defeated Nigeria National League (NNL) side Supreme Court by a lone goal.

Kingsley Michael got the only goal of the game in a tie which the head coach of the team started with an unfamiliar line up filled up with new discoveries in the team with just Victor Osimhen,Chukwudi Agor, Kingsley Michael,John Lazaruz,Samuel Chukwueze and Funsho Bamgboye the only known faces in the starting line up

The victory helped the Flying Eagles get back to winning ways after they were held to a 0-0 draw by another NNL side in Dreams FC of Benue State.

Coach of the team Emmanuel Amuneke told our correspondent in a chat that the idea of playing against NNL sides is in his bid to toughen the players physically as they expect their opponent,Burundi to be very physical.

“We have to make do with teams from the Nigeria National League as they usually come with a lot of physical edge which will be handy to our boys as we get set to face Burundi” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.

“So far we have been pushed to the walls in most of the games which is a good learning curve for my players especially those who are making the step up from the U-17 to the U-20”.
