Kano Pillars who are currently challenging for top spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League will most likely add a central defender from Warri Wolves to their team when the mid season transfer window opens in three weeks time.

Semiu Laidi who is among the players who opted to stay at the struggling Warri based side from last season is already locked in talks regarding a transfer with Kano Pillars.

Head coach of Kano Pillars Baba Ganaru is a big fan of the centre back and almost signed him while he was coach of Nasarawa United last season but it appears he will get his man this time around.

22 year old Laidi is presently nursing a slight injury and has experience in the Nigeria League from when he started off as a 17 year old for Jigawa Golden Stars to ABS FC before joining Enyimba where he won the league title prior to his moving to Warri Wolves two seasons ago.

Paul Aigbogun who handles Enyimba was keen to lure him back to Aba during the off season but he refused the advances of the Aba millionaires who are through to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
