Super Eagles forward Aminu Umar has put pen to paper on a three year deal with champions of the Turkish league Besiktas, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reaveal.
21 year old Umar who has two caps for the senior national team of Nigeria signed an initial two year deal with Besiktas with the option of a third if things work out for both parties in his first two years at the Vodafone Arena.
Aminu Umar starred for Osmanlispor this season scoring 8 goals in his debut season in the top flight of Turkish football league after four seasons in the country.
Aside the goals he scored, his all round performances earned him several man of the match awards and caught the attention of Besiktas who are in the market for forwards to replace their top striker Mario Gomez who has returned to his parent owners Fiorentina after finishing as top scorer with 26 goals.
The signing of Aminu by Besiktas is viewed as a coup by followers of the game in Turkey as they move early to snap him up considering he is set to feature for Nigeria U-23s at the Olympics and a strong showing could lead to offers from teams from the top five European leagues.
Aminu is one of several additions Besiktas will make this summer to beef up their squad ahead of their campaign in the the prestigious UEFA Champions League and the former Wikki Tourist man will reportedly earn twice his pay with the champions.
