Spanish La-Liga side Valencia are presently in talks with Portuguese side Uniao da Madeira over the transfer of Nigeria international Shehu Abdullahi.
Owngoalnigeria.com followed up on a social media post from the head coach of Valencia Pako Ayestaran who posted the profile of the 23 year old Nigerian who is heavily tipped to depart the relegated Portuguese side this summer on his wall.
Abdullahi is a defensive midfielder and midfield is one of the areas the newly appointed coach of Valencia wants to strengthen in the team with Javi Fuego and Enzo Perez is only options right now.
Owngoalnigeria.com spoke to a close source of the player who confirmed that talks are already at an advanced stage.
“Yes Valencia are one of the numerous teams interested in Shehu Abdullahi, talks are already underway and hopefully by next week they will be further development” He told Owngoalnigeria.com on the condition of anonymity.
Last season Shehu was one of the star performers for Uniao da Madeira posting man of the match performances from either his primary role as a defensive midfielder or as a full back.
Red Bull Salzburg of Austria failed with a bid for him in January with recent reports suggesting he will be allow to leave for a fee in the region of €1m.
