Former deputy captain of Enyimba, Ojobo was cut loose alongside Uremu Egbeta,Michael Okoyoh and Bright Akpojuvwewo were among 10 players released by the team in the ongoing mid season transfer in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The team decimated by the departure of top players who helped them finished second last season embarked on the mission to save cost in order to forestall a re-occurence of last season scenario where they couldn’t pay most of their players.
However their plans to replace the players with lads picked up from various grassroot teams in Warri and beyond have been frustrated by the League Management Company who are adamant that clubs owing players salaries and wages won’t be allowed to sign new players in this transfer window.
Struggling Warri Wolves are presently 12th on the log of the Nigeria Professional Football League and their form could lead to the departure of two key players in Semiu Laidi and Dele Ajiboye.
Laidi is wanted by Kano Pillars while Ajiboye is reportedly in talks with Enugu Rangers ahead of an impending move to the Flying Antelopes.
