Reports coming out of Ibadan has it that Gbenga Ogunbote who left his post as manager of Giwa FC yesterday has been appointed the new manager of Shooting Stars.
Ogunbote left Shooting Stars six months ago following a breakdown in relationship with the management of the team at the end of last season despite guarding them to a mid table finish from the jaws of relegation in less than six months.
He reportedly had issues with the general manager of the team Rasheed Balogun but both men patched up their differences during the week leading to Ogunbote’s departure from Giwa FC.
Balogun was keen on Ogunbote returning to the team after the failed experiment with veteran league coach Kadiri Ikhana who left the team two weeks ago languishing in the drop zone.
We further gathered that the former Gateway FC and Sunshine Stars gaffer will be assisted by the duo of Abimbola Lawal and Edith Agoye in his bid to help them recover from a poor start to the season.
