ABUJA ACADEMY BEAT REAL MADRID TO WIN MLADEN RAMLJAK CUP, TOP STRIKER WINS GOLDEN BOOT AND MVP

Nine man Real Madrid fell 1-3 to Abuja Academy in the finals of the maiden edition of Mladen Ramljak tournament to lose the trophy to the Nigerians who were far superior in the game.

The Real Madrid youngsters took the lead in the 14th minute but the Nigerians drew level a minute after the half time break courtesy of top striker Suleiman Abdullahi.

Prior to the goal scored by the Nigerians the Real Madrid kids lost their heads and had two players sent off and to further compund their woes they conceded an own goal which put Nigeria two goals up.

Friday rounded up victory for the Nigerians to gift them the trophy while their top striker Suleiman Abdullahi was voted the top striker aside picking up the golden boot for being top scorer with 8 goals.

Coached by a popular youth team coach Lawal Dankoli, Football Academy Abuja have produced talents for the Nigeria U-17 since they were formed four years ago aside having top players in Europe.

The likes of Abdullahi Alfa,Orji Okonkwo,Kingsley Michael,Sadiq Umar and Nura Abdullahi all started from the Abuja based academy.
